History of Sherwood Hills Resort

The Steepest Mountain Range in the United States

For nearly a century, Wellsville Canyon offered only a two-lane connection between the lush Cache Valley and the Interstate just 24 miles away. Yet in the midst stood the majestic Wellsville Mountains, distinct for being the steepest range in the United States. They are a breathtaking scene of rugged beauty and an unspoiled view of meadows and rolling hills. It wouldn’t be long before someone would want to share the magic.

In 1980, a single man envisioned a cozy mountain resort surrounded by aspen and maple trees, the wildlife, and serenity. Over the years and through current ownership, the vision transformed into what is now Sherwood Hills Resort Conference Center & Spa, an easily accessible, full-service venue that beckons guests who want to get away. To offer guests a feeling of seclusion, investors bought 700 prisinte acres that border a national wilderness area and then built 59 lovely rooms and gorgeous suites that guarantee a sense of solitude and relaxation.

Each guest at Sherwood Hills Resort has the chance to enjoy the scenic outdoors, to indulge at our full-service European Day Spa, to dine on world-class cusine, to have a place to meet family and collegues, and most importantly, to be welcome to return to Sherwood Hills Resort again and again.

We are moments away from civilization and a world away in service and tranquility.
